Due:	Tuesday, September 9, 2008 submit hard copy in class. Also, please email your memo to Professors Liebler and Reis by 11:59pm Sept. 9, 2008.

 Length of assignment: 2-4 pages

For this assignment, assume you are a top executive at McDonald’s. You have been asked for your suggestions for practical defenses that can be used by McDonald’s to counter the claims that McDonald’s failed to warn about the potential dangers of its food. You do not need to worry about specific legal issues. Instead, please focus on “common sense” and public policy arguments that can be raised against the plaintiffs’ claims.

Your challenge is to draft a memo to McDonalds’ corporate executives (including the Vice President for Public Relations) that analyses possible responses by McDonalds (practical and economic) to the arguments raised in the complaint. Please write in a narrative format using the IRAC (issue, rule, application, conclusion) approach covered in class.

Please use these documents as the basis for this assignment:

Article: Teenagers' Suit Says McDonald's Made Them Obese

Complaint: Pelman, et al v. McDonald’s (verified complaint)

Article: The McLawsuit...
